CompTIA is a non-profit trade association that advances the global interests of IT professionals and companies throughout the world. CompTIA has programs in four main areas: education, certification, advocacy and philanthropy.
- Educate the IT channel: the educational resources, comprising online guides, webinars, market research, business mentoring, open forums and networking events, help our members grow their businesses and become the “best in class.”
- Certify the IT workforce: they are the leading provider of technology-neutral and vendor-neutral IT certifications.
- Advocate on behalf of the IT industry: In Washington, D.C., they bring the power of small- and medium-sized IT businesses to bear as a united voice. In other areas of the world they bring IT businesses together to work on local issues.
- Give back through philanthropy: the foundation enables disadvantaged populations to gain the skills they need for employment in the IT industry. They also encourage their member communities to identify and donate to IT related charities.
It is one of those member communities, EU IT Services and Support that choose Close the Gap as the charity they wished to support with a donation. The EU IT Services and Support Community is a group of IT business professionals that meet several times a year to support one another through education, networking, and projects that improve the IT industry.
CompTIA’s vision of the IT landscape is informed by more than 25 years of global perspective and more than 2,700 members and 1,000 business partners that span the entire IT channel. They are driven by their members and led by an elected board of industry professionals.
All proceeds are directly reinvested in programs that benefit the valued members and the industry as a whole. Headquartered outside of Chicago, Comptia has offices across the United States and in Australia, Canada, China, Germany, India, Japan, South Africa and the United Kingdom.
This link to an US based non-profit trade association has been done with the support of one of Close the Gap Counselor: Mr. Corjan Bast, Close the Gap Counselor for North America development.
