The philanthropic sector is facing some interesting evolutions. New challenges in our societies motivate philanthropists and their advisors to develop new methodologies and initiatives. Philanthropy, in all its diversity, continuously contributes to improve our society. Its importance does even grow. Philanthropy is in the process of professionalizing itself, wants to improve the evaluation of its actions and is not scared to integrate new methods to achieve better social impact.
The objective of this Colloquium was to increase the awareness to the diversity and importance of philanthropy and to what it means to society today, in Belgium and abroad. 600 practitioners, philanthropists, notaries, professional advisors, bankers did reflect through a series of workshops, meetings and reports, on the evolutions of philanthropy and on its place in our societies.
Amongst others, Olivier Vanden Eynde (as Close the Gap Managing Director) participated to the workshop “Philanthropy and Development”.
The objective of the day was to showcase results and demonstrate the diversity of the sector.
